[overview] [previous] [next]

I have time to tell you one story:

There was a girl who joined the work at the tender age of 14 (imagine)
By the time I met her she had advanced quite a lot in Opus dei and she
became my spiritual director. She was great. Some of the other girls
that I used to go to activities with said they all liked her too but
some thought that she didn't belong in the work.

One day - out of the blue - I was assigned to other spiritual
director. I asked her what happened to the first one but she was very
vague. She said,"oh she's at home". As the weeks went by I kept asking
about her but I always got the same vague reply.

I finally found out through "the grape vine" that she had quit and left
the work. I never saw her again and no one in the centre every spoke of
her again. It was as though she was dead. And apparently they are
instructed to do this. If someone leaves, the other numaries are not to
speak of the person who left - ever.

I was furious. I felt so decieved and mislead! What were they afraid of
?? Why couldn't they just say xxxxx left the work because she
discovered that it wasn't for her blah blah blah....?

Apparently they didn't want to tell me the truth because they were
hoping that I would join and they didn't want to plant any seeds of
doubt in my head about maybe not joining. It just made me think that
they were hiding stuff. And it made me wonder what else they were
hiding.

Anyway I gotta go for now

Thanks for listening
